JYG meets every Thursday evening from 7:00pm to 8:30pm in the Parish Center, beginning in October and running through May after weekly 7th & 8th grade Religious Education classes. The Senior Youth Group is open to all students in grades 9-12, and meets every Sunday evening from 7:00pm to 8:30pm in the Youth Group Room (downstairs, beneath the Cry Room). The mission of the St. Mark Youth Group is to come together as the youth of St. Mark Church in a safe and confidential environment where we can talk with peers about the issues that we face, discuss our morals and values, and make connections with our church community through a variety of activities and prayer.
The Youth Groups for middle school and high school students recognize Christ at the center of their lives through prayer, worship, service projects and social activities that help them to form a bond of fellowship and grow in faith.
Youth group is a place for 7th through 12th graders to come together as friends in Christ. We hang out, pray and talk about the issues we face as the youth of today. We play games, perform community service, and experience our faith through retreats and youth conferences. We respect each other and support each other. Come check it out, we'd love to have you stop by!
Check the events calendar for exact planned activities, but the following are a sampling of some things Youth Group does in addition to meetings:
- Fall leaf raking for the elderly
- Christmas caroling
- Easter egg hunt
- Charity volunteering for Al's Angels and others
- Movie nights
- Go karting
- Youth conferences & retreats
- Fan the Fire Youth Rally
